Overview

Working out taxes and commissions by hand kept causing billing mistakes. The system applies the hotel's own rules, the same way, on every bill.

The problem

Taxes and commissions across several services were calculated by hand. Fiddly, repetitive sums on every line of every bill, and a regular source of mistakes.

What we built

A billing and operations system that follows the hotel's actual tax and commission rules, so every service line is calculated the same way, whoever is on the front desk.

Results

• More than 90% fewer billing errors
• About two hours of calculation a day taken off the front desk, roughly 50 hours a month
• Taxes and commissions applied the same way on every line
